Helios 44-2 58mm

Helios 58mm

Leica M 240 with Helios 44-2 58mm.

This lens was on my desk for a long time, most of the time used as paper weight. It doesn’t deserve this fate. ūüôā
Today I saw it and tough with myself: “What wonderful portrait lens” Then decided to go out with my daughter and use it again after all this time.
When I bought this lens a few years back, I also had to get a lens adapter (M42 to Leica M mount), after looking the available options (not many) I decided to buy the Novoflex LEM/CO adapter and I am very satisfied with it.

Leica Park Wetzlar Opening

On ¬†May 24th ¬†I had the chance to visit Wetzlar, a beautiful small city in Germany where Leica opened it’s doors to visitors.

There was quite a few people there but that was not a problem. As expected the atmosphere between Leica admirers visiting the place was pleasant and familiar.

The new headquarters are quite impressive, when you enter the new building the first thing you encounter is a hall that exhibits not only cameras but historical pictures created by iconic photographers using them.

Arriving at the new Leica Park in Wetzlar.

After the several hours needed to visit all areas open to the public, to  have lunch and to drink some coffee in the Leitz Café, I was satisfied with the time I have spent to travel from Kassel to Wetzlar.
Dr. Andreas Kaufmann was also there of course :-),  talking to the public and being photographed. Always carrying a Leica T with him.
