Capturing the moment

Leica M7 with Summarit 35mm f/2.5 & Kodak Portra 400 (BW conversion) film.

I was in a café with my wife when I noticed the fellow photographer around.
When I returned to our table with the coffees my wife told me “I think that person took a picture of me”. I then decided to capture his moment when he was “capturing the moment” :-).

Leica Park Wetzlar Opening

On  May 24th  I had the chance to visit Wetzlar, a beautiful small city in Germany where Leica opened it’s doors to visitors.

There was quite a few people there but that was not a problem. As expected the atmosphere between Leica admirers visiting the place was pleasant and familiar.

The new headquarters are quite impressive, when you enter the new building the first thing you encounter is a hall that exhibits not only cameras but historical pictures created by iconic photographers using them.

Official coverage of the opening event on Vimeo:

After the several hours needed to visit all areas open to the public, to  have lunch and to drink some coffee in the Leitz Café, I was satisfied with the time I have spent to travel from Kassel to Wetzlar.
Dr. Andreas Kaufmann was also there of course :-),  talking to the public and being photographed. Always carrying a Leica T with him.
